Studied at the Slade School of Fine Art and in Newlyn, Cornwall, possibly at the Forbes School. She settled in Sussex in the early 1920s, then about 12 years later making her home in Ditchling, where she continued to live. Rawlins illustrated for The Studio, and was a prolific exhibitor in London and Paris, being a member of WIAC and SWA also showing at RA, RBA, RE, RHA, Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and elsewhere.
