Watercolour drawn with black chalk and point of a brush on the back of a printed page, signed by the artist, S Jenner in black ink (lower right). The text is written with point of brush in monochrome. Second half 19th century. This drawing is without a frame or mount and will be delivered in a conservation standard clear polyester sleeve.
Text: If you had these Steam devils in harness to contend with farmer as we have, you might complain, but you are always grumbling let the times be what it will but leave your farm tomorrow there will be a hundred after it like foxhounds.

Stephen Jenner was an amateur artist, caricaturist, and Grand-Nephew of Dr. Edward Jenner the English physician who was a contributor to the development of the smallpox vaccine.
