Lucas, William (1840-1895)
A painter primarily in watercolour of portraits, figures and human genre. He was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours in 1864 and resigned in 1882. Subsequently his health broke down and he gave up painting. He exhibited at the Royal Academy (15), Society of British Artists, Suffolk Street (12), and the New Watercolour Society, among others. He had an address at 92 Clifton Hill, St John’s Wood, London.
